Hey Peeps

I have moved on to mrandmrsyay.blogspot.com which is a shared blog between me and le boyf <3

reasons for doing so:
#1 most of my blog posts are going to be somewhat related to him
#2 more writers = more frequent blog posts = livelier blog!
#3 its going to be a first hand diary for both of us when we look back at our lives when we grow old <3
#4 the new blog post can include views from more than one angle (me being the princess of his life & him being my slave! mwahaha! nah just joking.)

Just looks so pretty :D I've always had some weird admiration for these vintage looking clocks, heh.

Le boyf with the pretty walls with white roses!
(and one of the other couple lovey dovey over there, keke)

The boss/designer of this whole place is really a genius for putting everything together, giving a love garden, first love feel.

Pre-xmas

Pentatonix is simply awesome. Nuff said.

Seriously, this whole year has been a year of nothing-but-rush throughout and there wasn't any clear break for me etiher.
It was just School, Work, School again.
Didn't even realise that Christmas is coming soon, which means end of year 2013 is approaching too.
Will seize this holidays to reflect on my achievements or regrets, and slow down my pace of life to appreciate my surroundings better. :)

But for now, it would be action towards my short term goal: WEIGHT LOSS, GET HEALTHY AND FIT. :)
will be hitting the gym later in the evening.
kudos to that, till then~

FINALS OVER LOOOO

SEMESTER THREE OFFICIALLY ENDED.
woooooot! :P

After our ME2151 paper, feeling joyful and thankful for our consultation slots yesterday with prof Lim, we headed down to POMO for LAN gaming session!

Played L4D and Counterstrike! :P ma virgin attempt at Counterstrike was nubbad!
nubbad at all~ :D
keke! will go and train my L4D skills over the holiday cos' I was constantly a liability to the team >.<

Then it was celebratory meal with le boyf for our post-one-year-anniversary.
We had Wagyu Beef BBQ buffet at Daidomon at Beach Road! (as we got the groupon 50% off deal)

For a $100 per pax buffet, I would say its just mehh..
But since this buffet costs $100 per pax and we got it at 50% off, so why not? :P
But I would definitely not go back and pay $100 pp.

The wagyu beef was not thaaaat nice.
But definitely worth a try when compared to the sub-standard beef in Korean BBQ restaurant.
Well maybe its because I've tasted much better high-grade beef BBQ in Gyu Kaku.
I can still remember how this chunk of oyster blade melted in my mouth back in Gyu Kaku!

Here's to our One-Year Anniversary and infinity more to come!! <3 p="">

Baby, I just want to say that you make me the happiest girl alive. & no one could compare to that.
xoxo,
Michelle

Take a break for a longer journey ahead.

Dear peeps,

Finally... its mid-exams!
3 papers down, and 3 more to go...
Took a long, deep sleep last night. Feels sooooooo shiok ah!

I always believe in taking breaks, for an even longer journey.
"Have a break, have a Kit Kat!"
see, even Kit Kat endorses this idea :P

People always say that its just an excuse for me to slacken off.
But seriously, who can function without rest?!?
K la, I've got a few friends who function like robots.
They can concentrate on things for like 16 hours straight in a row.... T.T
They might really be robots, who knows? XD

Gonna start preparing my armor for the next half of the battle!
Its gonna be a hellafa week. Next three papers are the real killers.
LEZGO EVERYBADEH!!

Exam Period

First paper today.................

Before the online exam, there was system error before the time racing test... Grrrrrrr....

Finally finished the test after 25 minutes of stressful questions, another system error occured upon submission....... & my reaction?

I was so pissed to know that such system errors can occur during NUS major exams.
Especially when it is a computer thingy module, grr..
I gave quite a chao-bin, aka black face after that (to the point that even the invigilator recognises me)
Boyf's face super super chao after that too :(

After minutes and minutes of waiting, and the coordinators contacted the computing side and guess what?
They offered us a chance to retake the paper!
RETAKE!!!
+ a one hour break before that!!

AWW YEAHH~
my group took the chance to discuss the answers before going back, fully armed :)
25 minutes test, with 11 minutes for checking of answers.
felt so much more confident for this second chance of reborn!
high hopes of getting that A for this module, whooots! :D

on a side note, le boyf and me received a welfare pack from one of our school clubs.

We were sitting by the lounge eating nutella sandwich from the vending machines and the club members came in to gave everyone in the lounge a welfare pack. Deodorant, shampoo and soap!
Our school damn rich hor? give people free soap, some more the soaps were distributed according to the gender packs. Tsktsk.

I believe they've got a hidden agenda, which is to tell those school campers to go bathe!
FYI, our school is damn kua zhang one.
We've got people (I'm suspecting our dearest foreign talents,) bringing luggages to study rooms in school, with plans to camp overnight over a few days!
every time their area damn smelly one.. YIKESS ://

People, study hard, but please remember to bathe okay!!! >.<

time to go... one paper down, 5 more to go.... :) hang on everybody!

Exams are nearing

Hello people!
I am dying from studying... (right after recovery from food poisoning)

Writing down a list of things not done, & I was like...

Goodluck to those who are in the same boat as me!
(especially to my engineering fellows out there)

Lets fight this finals together and get it over and done with!
Kampateh jiayou! :D

Food Poisoning from Two Chefs @ CommonWealth

Dear people who chances upon this blog,
BOYCOTT TWO CHEFS EATING PLACE!

The exact address:
Two Chefs Eating Place 双厨菜馆 (Main Branch)
Blk 116 Commonwealth Crescent
#01-129, Singapore 140116

Previous Sunday night, my whole family went down to this place to have a nice zi char gathering after my mom came back from her Taiwan trip. skipped awesome quack quack meal with le boyf for this.

One day later all of us had food poisoning... :(
Mom, 2 sisters and (of course) 2 brother-in-laws, and me all laosai like crazy. Some of them vomited, and had fever!
For me it was shitting liquids (alot alot of liquids) & feeling back and neck ache and tired the whole day...
GOD, Y U DO DIS TO ME during exam period :(

List of stuffs ordered for 6 of us: (sorry no pictures were taken)
  1. Herbal Chicken Soup
  2. Cereal Chicken (Mai Pian Ji, the chicken was toooo hard. BAD..)
  3. Drunken Cockles [definitely not the cause of food poisoning cos mom and erjie did not eat this]
  4. Butter Pork Ribs (their famous milk powder thingy, that was supposed to melt in your mouth. Dissapointing)
  5. Tapioca Leaves
  6. Salted Egg Prawn Balls (this was the only nice dish)
  7. Beancurd with golden Mushrooms
I don't know which dish caused the food poisoning... but it was definitely because of the meal at Two Chefs as that was the only common meal we've had for the past three weeks.

sigh figh... enough self-pity. Better get back to studying! Adios~

If I had a million dollars

Hello!
Today's blog topic is actually quite interesting. It is inspired by a hokkien song... "Na si wa wu ji ba ban"!
keke! for those who don't know hokkien, it means "If I had a million dollars".

This song never fails to lift my spirits up with its upbeat tune :P
I like how the original song actually ends with a phrase "peng you ah, le eh ji ban ban jin dueh hor?" (which is not played in this video...) When translated, it means "hey friend, your one million dollar seems like its never-ending". So cute right?

So what would I do if I had lots of money? Maybe, three million? ($3 million is alot for a poor student like me!)

I don't know why but this image popped out from my head xD
but at least I have a dream okay!

So, being in a pragmatic society, I would spend the first $1 million to buy a house in Singapore.
A HDB near green-line MRT, for rental purposes. (since I am still just a student and can live with my mom)
Then, half a million to upgrade my mom's house or retirement fees. Another half a million for family (includes le boyf) to bring them travel around the world every year and eat good food! & save up another half million dollar in my bank. So, I'll be left with $0.5 million to do other stuffs.

#1. Pay off all the university tuition fees, and sponsor my own luxury SEP (Student Exchange Programme) trip! I have applied for SEP to Canada, with plans to cross borders to USA to tour around! Omitofuo~ Please pray that I get it! :(

#2. Set a self-grooming budget, spending of $1000 a month on skincare, clothes.... and maybe gym??? HAHAHA.

#3. Get a female dog to accompany Nikki! (just look at his sexy pose in his Burberry sweater) Heh, cool yo! :P

#4. Buy lots of insurance, and then go overseas to for bungee jumping, parachuting, and maybe mountain trekking :D :D

#5. Set up a shop for pets cafe. My brother as main chef, sisters as pet groomers or promoters, mommy enjoy life. Then, I'll be the money collector... or bartender! Hey don't look down on me, I've worked as a bartender before! xP & for this cafe, Nikki will be roaming around freely, and other pet owners can bring their pets here. We will have a human and pet menu. :)

#6. Whatever leftover money I'll then give them to charity. :)

Yupp, that's about it.
Things to do IF I had the money :)
On rather simple things aye? A poor Singaporean student don't have big dreams yo~

What would you do if you had endless stream of money?

Healthy Living Log #1

Dear Blog,

So happy that I finally received my bracelet from the mailbox.
Woohoo! It's so priddy I can die!!  *mimicks Agnes from Despicable Me*

&Today marks the day of healthy-eating day #1!

FYI, I am someone who absolutely hates sweating and always feeling hungry. Hence, the fat body which accumulates from all 'em fattie food and lazy lifestyle, as well as the lack of motivation to exercise. Currently weighing at 5*kg, rise of 8kg since a year ago. BOOOOO :(

I am not really someone who can focus at two things at a time, and now's the exam period so no no to wasting time exercising. So, I have decided to start eating healthier to compensate the lack of exercise during semester period, keke! ^^

Have been reading up on nutritional food in the morning, and have decided to include more of bananas and blueberry cereal into my diet as my first step to healthy living.
  1. Banana

People who know me will know that I'm no fan of bananas. I actually kinda dislike bananas. Haha, but I have started to accept the taste of bananas recently. I still don't really like it, but ya, I have come to terms with its "acquired" taste.

Bananas are actually super beneficial to our bodies! It is rich in fibre, so it helps you to shit better and feel fuller for a longer time. It is also relatively low in calories (only slightly higher than your apples). For health sake, can help control blood pressure, bone loss, kidney stones, calcium loss, heart diseases, etc....!! Bananas not only improve your physical health, they also improve your mental health, as it has tryptophan which is converted to serotonin to improve mood and achieve a soothing effect! GOOD AYE??

Also, girls... Try to eat the riper bananas. Though riper bananas are easier to digest compared to the normal ones, making you feel hungry faster, they are in fact sweeter and higher in antioxidants! Then can make your skin soft and smooth ^^

    GET YOUR BANANAS NOW. >:D
  2. Blueberry Cereal

Firstly, choosing cereal itself is a separate skill on its own. More often than not, we'll see "high fibre", "no sugar added", "low fat" on cereal packagings. Don't be tricked by these claims by the manufacturers. No fat does not really mean no fat. And why blueberry specifically? Cos' it is rich in antioxidants, which clears toxins in your body and has anti-aging effects and makes your skin nice and preeeedy! :D I would personally recommend the Post Selects Blueberry Morning cereal with low-fat milk.

It's healthy with low-calories and not tasteless. Its actually quite sweet for me, and it has real blueberries and crunchy granola clusters! Om nomz :P

But.. this is not exactly the cheapest cereal around. Nonetheless, this is worth it right? For your health and skin and soul :D Kampeteh towards healthy eating!
That's all to my small first step to healthy living. To all my non-existent readers out there, start eating healthier now!

kudos to losing weight through healthier eating! :D
It's not too late as long as you make a change now.

A random post about life

Hello blog! I'm back!

Life has been smooth sailing for me ever since school started :) got all the modules at all my balloted timeslots, woohoo! No mid terms, and weekly lab session were a zoom zoom since seniors' lab reports were there to save my grades. Well gotta start hard-core next week (after my birthday, *hint hint*)

I dont know is it because im gonna turn 20, but time simply passes sooooo fast! I can still clearly remember my secondary school days, and the next moment, boom im already in my uni second year! Feel so old, that everything is happening so fast. On a side note, im glad im growing well and the odds have been in my favour. ^^

My cousin, 19 this year, has got cataract and it happened suddenly. He only has some blurry visions on one eye and he thought nothing of it till one week ago he suddenly went half blind. Lucky for him, immediate treatment was given and he managed to save both eyes from going blind! *phew*

Another story from my friend, Eileen, is that her friend died during a scuba diving session. It's not because he got swept away by a wave or something. He had food poisoning and only felt slightly nauseous and thought nothing of it. Since he travelled all the way and paid for the scuba diving session, he went ahead with it. Unfortunately, he started puking underwater and you know like, when u vomit you'd need more air and oxygen... so the oxygen tank was unable to support him and poof, he dies. *mourns for awhile*

All these stories made me reflect about life, and I can't help but feel that life is so fragile. Sigh. As cliché as it gets, #YOLO. You only live once. And it's not easy to keep that heartbeat pumping. To all my non-existing readers out there, please please please cherish life! Don't smoke and try to be funny and do all those weird stunts and put your life in danger! Live every moment to its fullest! :)

A motivational quote to get you all through the day:
I'm not telling you its going to be easy. I'm telling you it's going to be worth it. :)

Jiayou everybody! Hang in there! 2 more months to partial freedom~

Tips on reducing Menstrual Cramp

Helloooo!
How’s everybody doing?

Today I’m gonna be blogging about menstrual cramps.

Girls who have super duper painful menstrual cramps, I know how you feel. I have those every month! :/ It's like a nightmare (throughout the day)... a MONSTER!!

To those girls who don’t have this experience, lucky you! :/ cos it is really a routine you won’t wanna be involved in. When people are out there having fun, jumping around, eating ice cream, and drinking icy drinks, you are there… lying miserably on the bed waiting, cringing in different positions, feeling dead and eating only as much as an ant can take in.

So far, I have tried many methods to reduce the pain. I went to Chinese doctors to regulate my Yin-Yang. But it was too costly to maintain. ($150 each month for the herbal medicines) I went to English doctors and all they gave me were painkillers, which I could easily get from any pharmacies or 7-11 nearby. *facepalm*I even followed those drama series, they said eating chocolates could help ease the pain! The most recent attempt was the Eu Yang Seng’s Bai Feng Wan, which I am supposed to swallow a bottle of pills every week. One-whole-bottle. Every week. Goooosh. &so I went on a quest to ask my bestest friend, Google, for help.

1)      Hot water bottles
I’ve tried this many times, it kinda works! But it normally takes some time for the muscle to warm and relax. I would always wrap it up with a towel and put it at my lower abdomen and then wrap myself in a thick blankie. I will feel like a small little girl every time I do that, hehe!
2)      Menstral Painkiller Pills
You don’t wana rely on these too much even though it works. Your dosage will slowly increase over time.
3)      Yoga posts
Youtubing “Yoga for cramps” gave me a few results. Try keeping legs elevated while lying down. Or Lie on the side with knees bent.
4)      Change in Diet
Rich in complex carbohydrates (whole grains, fruits, and vegetables)Less salt, sugar, alcohol, and caffeine.
5)      Warm showers
It's quite shiok after it! Always do it while you can still walk (if the pain is not too painful)
6)      Walk or light exercise regularly
hmm... hehe! I'll work on it soon!
7)      Have adequate sleep
Yupp :D absolutely love this method, have been doing it all along keke!
well, that's all I've learnt so far, hope these few tips are of use to you! ^^

Working Adult Grumbles

Researched on many topics like prices of household appliances, industrial boilers and building materials as part of my jobs. But more than 60% of my time was spent on researching other things like tour and wedding destinations, birthday parties, scrapebook making and online shopping for clothes and bags! Tee-Hee :D

But overall…… I hate my work! can't wait for it to end on 26th July!

there's lame colleague who is a total S-L-A-C-K-E-R. can't stand him.
I started the job feeling all motivated and pumped up to do work. then came this slacker disrupting my mood as he was slow and had a bad attitude about the job. using the phone and coming in late every day, and still gets the same pay as me! at first I thought it was going to be temporary. I started to talk to him to get him motivated but he was a stubborn as bull about his lousy work attitude and made me feel unbalanced. I was grumbling to myself and tolerating all his nonsense every day, and it was torturous. Was I working too hard? I had to stop working so hard to feel less unbalanced. I started going slightly later for work, started using my phone, and started surfing the net for stuff other than work. I hate myself like this actually. & I hate him for being like this. Disgusting, how can anyone be like that?

Zz. Nuff grumbling about work.

Life has been fine other than times at work. Been meeting up with my dear friends (Astrid and Sharmane), and my dearest boyfriend ^^ I’ve also been catching up on family time after my one year of stay in hall. Missed home so much :P I love Nikki, mommy and everyone elseeee. (oh and especially mommy’s cooking J)

This is the yummy macaroons from TWG! :P #omnom

Boyf has been feeding me so much that I’ve gained 8kg since last year (exactly this period one year ago) #fatdieme. sigh, how I wish I can go back to below 50kg. Oh well, I’ll try my best! Probably gonna start running for the RunNus 5km that boyf have signed up for me :/

Adios~

College Life Tips

hello people!

work sucks... I have been staring into blank space for the past 4 hours, doing nothing at all. But i get paid, oh well :)

attended Mech Eng camp as a councillor this year. my feelings about the camp is that being a councillor really tests someone's responsibility level and stamina to get the energy going. I felt like a lousy councillor no matter how hard I've tried. Broke down like twice cos of the camp, guess I'm stressing myself out too much. but it's finally over and I see freshies slowly warming up to each other and that really warms my heart. :') the camp was not only for the freshies but I also got to know other councillors, SiYing, Dennis, JiaJun, HweeSheng. they are all very nice people, different from what I thought out to be hehe :P

While being a councillor, it makes me think back one year ago when I was a freshie myself. I told myself: this is my only chance to get wild in university and experience things I would never experience once I step out to the working world.

Rule #1: STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE.
& that was exactly what I did.

I joined Rag, an annual performance with a hugeass float with dance and cheerleading. Used to have trust issues... but cheerleading made me trust people better. I mean its like your life is literally in their hands. Never did I regret spending the one whole months being actively involved in it.
I joined Raffles Hall, a balanced play & work place where I've decided to reside in. :) super convenient as it was just beside the school of engineering.
I joined Touch Rugby. OMG a sport!! *a round of applause for the non-sporty girl*
I was in RH Paegent! wanted to reject it, but it was like once in a lifetime so I was like "arghh... heck it, no one will remember thise after awhile, #YOLO".
I joined two school clubs! SME and Engin Club to enhance my planning skills.

So anyways, some freshies have been asking me how's hall life and what to bring to hall! I'm thinking they asked the wrong person cos' I simply bring everything to hall, had a hard time moving everything back home :X but I am still gonna provide a list of suggested items to bring anyways :)
  1. Toiletries, Clothes, blah blah blah the normal living essentials
one thing to note: prepare lots of sports wear enough to change a few times a day. I don't know about you guys, but ever since I've moved to hall, I've been bathing at least three times a day! All the random activities in the middle of the night happening~
  2. Board decorative items is a MUST!
this is probably to motivate yourself to study hard, and paste a few pictures of your darling friends and family to ease the loneliness (if you stay in single room)
  3. Mini fridge
to store your milk, fruits and yogurts.
  4. Radio, cards, cups and "emergency bottles"
be ever ready to start up parties & hype up the mood for mini drinking sessions every now and then throughout the semester. I mean, occasional drinking sessions are the times when people let their hair loose and just relax and no pretence! righttt? :)
  5. Study Calender / Organiser
this is very super important, I just cannot emphasize this enough. Practice time management for all your hall activities + school time schedules and venues + EXAM DATES (& venues of course).
yup, that's about it :) I hope these few tips help!
Just keep in mind that college life is a once in a life time. Go wild while you can before you enter the dull and mundane working force!

We'll live while we young ~(song by One Direction)

Have fun! ^^ Adios~
